Chatel Bike Park
The town of Chatel is situated 10 Km northeast of Morzine, close to the Swiss border. It‘s a center for Downhill mountain bike riders thanks to the many mountain bike downhill trails which descend from the steep slopes of the mountains adjacent to Chatel. One of the main attractions of Chatel is the Chatel mountain bike park. The park is located halfway between Morzine and Chatel and offers a wide range of downhill and single tracks, in addition to some challenging technical trails.
In addition to the conventional mountain bike hire morzine tracks which it offers, Chatel Bike Park offers a unique biking experience, by riding through an adventurous technical bike obstacle course which includes gaps, drops and many other exciting challenges you will definitely enjoy and remember until your next visit to the French Alps.
Enjoy an adrenalin-full ride down hill through a forest, while most of the ride you will find yourself riding on a wooden platform as wide as a single track.
In order to reach the park there is a free bus service from the town of Chatel and at times, from Morzine mountain biking too. Bikers are allowed to load their bikes on the bus, which makes this service very comfortable and handy. There is plenty of room for bikes on the bus since its half opened.
Its important to consult a biking guide before setting out to the trails of the park, in order to make sure you‘re fit riding the trail of you‘re choice. In any case don‘t forget to bring along the sufficient protection accessories, especially if you‘re planning to take on the more challenging trails.
Chatel Bike Park is considered one of the area unique attractions - I highly recommend adding at least one or two trails of the park to your trip‘s itinerary.
